[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia
Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. For one thing, if you edit without a username, your IP address (81.158.207.0) is used to identify you instead.
In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}}
before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! Mushroom (Talk) 14:31, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Just letting you know, I've responded to you here. Dreaded Walrus t c 14:12, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dawkins and Kenya
Hello. If you've got a source for him leaving Kenya, that's great - I just reverted your edit because you hadn't sourced it, and because it contradicted an earlier sentence in the lead. Feel free to re-add it with a source, or to discuss it Talk:Richard Dawkins. --McGeddon (talk) 15:59, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Editing other people's user pages
Please don't do this. If you have genuine concerns about sockpuppetry, you should follow the procedures explained at WP:SSP - this will ensure that an admin actually looks at the case, whereas editing userpages directly will be reverted as vandalism. --McGeddon (talk) 16:03, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- And I removed this because it appears to be nonsensical, and does not appear to have the ability to improve the featured article. If you can find a reliable source for that too, then feel free to add it. Otherwise, keep discussion on talk pages on the subject of improving (or discussing) the article itself, and try not to revert without reason using an edit summary that is intended to be reserved for plain vandalism (the edit window when using the undo feature says "If you are undoing an edit that is not vandalism, explain the reason in the edit summary rather than using only the default message". Thanks. --Dreaded Walrus t c 16:14, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, we remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on User talk:Gaillimh. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. [edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 13:18, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
