[edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 02:27, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Southport Online
Can I ask why you twice re-added the Southport Online link when I had removed it prior to you even mentioning it over an hour a go when you obviously objected to it so strongly? - Galloglass 02:42, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] talk pages
Hi, Just pointing out that it's Wikipedia convention that new sections on talk pages go at the bottom, not the top. The easiest way to start a new section is to click on the "+" at the top, next to "Edit this page", and it gives you a "subject" box and a text box and puts it in the right place automatically. I've just done an edit on the Talk:Southport to put the sections into order. (Of course an old section may have later discussion in it too, but the order should reflect when the section was created). [edit] refs for books
Hi, just to let you know that if you're adding info about books there's a Wikipedia template which helps to get the info displayed in a standard way: you can read about it at Template:Cite book, but basically you input something like
* {{cite book |title= The Sands Of Times: An introduction to the Sand Dunes of the Sefton Coast Line|last= Smith|first=Philip H. |authorlink= |coauthors= |year= |publisher= |location= |isbn= 1-902700-03-1}}
and it appears like this:
- Smith, Philip H.. The Sands Of Times: An introduction to the Sand Dunes of the Sefton Coast Line. ISBN 1-902700-03-1.
If you know publisher, place of publication, year of publication, then include them too.
There's a lot to learn about Wikipedia, but it's fun discovering it all. Good luck. PamD (talk) 08:56, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
