User talk:80.3.32.9
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
You have no right to delete the whole talk page. Also, it is not the right editing practice in Wikipedia, for a single user to replace the whole article with his text. Sincerely, Tkorrovi 15:44, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Hi, why not at least get yourself a log-in with a pseudonym. As it is I think you've sometimes contributed with a different IP address, which makes tracing your contribution quite harde. Matt Stan 11:03, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Hi. It might be useful if you created a username for yourself. It is much nicer to discuss things with a name than a number.
Aside from that, do you wish to express an objection to my mediating your problems at Artificial consciousness? Or perhaps, do you wish to become explicitly active as a participant? P.S. My login expired while I was typing this in, so I have to come back and sign it. How embarrassing is that? :) -- Cimon 18:17, Dec 8, 2004 (UTC)
"[Arthur C. Clarke's diving school was destroyed.] As was the small spacecraft he was building to flee the impending interstellar armageddon, as foretold by his close friend and Church of Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard." This was written by you here: 2004_Indian_Ocean_earthquake
What has this to mean? Any factual backing? - Henk Poley

[edit] Tkorrovi vs Psb777
Hi! You witnessed the edit wars at artificial consciousness and even took part in a few. My supposed harassment of Tkorrovis now subject of an arbitration request at Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration. As you took place in the abortive or incomplete mediation at User_talk:Cimon_avaro/ArtConsc_mediation I thought you might be interested in making your opinion known or at least spectating at the latest shenanigans. [edit] Userpage blanking
Hi, I see you have created an account with wikipedia, we love to see new editors and appreciate any contributions you decide to make. Please note that even though you have created an account it is still considered bad etiquette to blank out your user talk page as it may be helpful for other users to view. One notable exception to this is if you have an IP Address that does not change and would like to redirect this page to your new user page. Information about redirects can be found at Wikipedia:Redirect, thanks. Jtkiefer July 4, 2005 19:26 (UTC)

[edit] Morwen
your vandalism of Morwen's userpage just at the same time that you're creating an account doesn't do you any favours. If you check the histories, you'll see that it was me that initially put the page up for vfd, and followed fairly closely on the heels of the sockpuppets' edit sprees. Morwen stepped in in a minor capacity, reverting bias and irrelevance as several of the other wikipedians did and as is expected of wikipedians. Your attack on her in the form of vandalism to her userpage is unwarranted, and certainly does not reflect your apparently society standing as a pillar of the community. I was the one who placed the article-invisible comment on the Hazel Blears page to you, because the edit you made did was not objectively notable to the article.
If you take issue against my opinions, please feel free to get in touch on my talk page. Either way, I suggest reconsidering how you want to be viewed on wikipedia - as an upstanding user who put an article in the wrong place (and here I mean the original article rather than placing it on your user page - having that on your user page would certainly rank it as a better user page than most), or as a retaliatory user who took issue against wikipedia's policies and guidelines and proceeded to vandalise anyone who disagreed. I'm sure you'll find a shade of grey in between, but I can hope that you can be more objective about this and realise that this is a community project where vandalism and personal attacks are unwelcome and unnecessary. In a way the way I become more focused on the edits in question and tracked them more carefully could be construed as a personal attack against you, but I've done the same for as many vandals who kept coming back as possible; you just happened to come back a little more often, and so got a focus. I apologize if you feel offended by this focus, and if it seems I may have been oppressive; being busier now means that I don't have the time to track edit wars here, and as part of that any reversions to your contributions would be made by a wider range of people; if your contributions are positive enough that no reversion is needed, then I will happily welcome you to the wikipedia community. --Firien § 5 July 2005 11:17 (UTC)
[edit] Reply to your comment on my talk page
"Just because you have done nothing near notable"
- Neither have you. Your claim of setting up an activity group means diddly. Notable? I've personally raised thousands of pounds for charity. At school I was strongly community minded, and did more for my community than setting up a youth activity group; I helped people who needed it. DoE BSG, for what that means. I was an international veteran coxswain before I got to university, and I've got gold medals from those events; I got to Cambridge, and became the publicity officer for the University charity society, raising in excess of £100,000 annually for a range of charities, while also winning multiple bumps headships and straight race events; and yet it doesn't matter. I'm fairly sure that your response to much of what I've listed will be of the order of 'so what'; and that's my point. It's not noteworthy. I've done more for my communities than you have done for your one; I've done a broader range of things, and done my best to excel at them; I know that being older I've had more time to do these things, and I'm sure with your track record you will almost certainly rack up a whole rack of credentials and so on. But, like what I've done, it still doesn't belong here, in an encyclopedia. That's what User Pages are for.
"Belittle others"
- if you refuse to follow the guidlelines of the encyclopedia (firstly on Vanity Pages (vanity in the broader sense than simple narcissism); secondly on vandalism; thirdly on sockpuppets, 3RR... the list goes on) then you will not be treated equally. You came here with good intentions, but as soon as someone spoiled your fun (again by following the guidelines) you started responding; when various members of the community cleared up the results of your responses, you progressively became more and more aggressive. If you attack people, then expect a response. The big point here, as in the previous paragraph, is about noteworthiness; if you question and question and question, then you will get answered and answered and answered. That's what people here are like. If you don't like the answer, then stop asking the question. What you did is a good thing - but as mentioned both here and in yesterday's comment (above), it's User Page stuff, not encyclopedia stuff. And if you insist on bigging yourself up, then the response will be to bring you back to size.
"found the need to edit your pages essential"
- how is it 'essential' or in any way useful to edit someone's page by swearing at them, by inserting and substituting insults for parts of their pages? When I initially put up your page for vfd, I didn't change the text to say 'cocksucker' or 'likes dressing up' or anything, because I know that a cadet force is a positive contribution. So is being local chairman of the Rotary Club, so is practically everything done by respectable members of any community. But I also didn't edit the article to be insulting to you because it's a stupidly immature thing to do, and doesn't reflect well. It leads onto the next point:
"half the stuff on Wikipedia is wrong anyway, and when I or other mates change wrong info is tossers like you that change it back"
- firstly, we get the effect of the '...doesn't reflect well'. There are large numbers of people in this encyclopedia called vandal hunters, or the RC patrol. RC is the recent changes board, as seen on the left under the wikipedia logo. It's the easiest place to find out where childish edits are being made. When you find a user who's being malicious or vandalising pages with insults or gibberish, then the user's history gets a look; and because of that, or those, edits, your other contributions will be treated with mistrust.
- Of course a lot of the stuff on Wikipedia is wrong; it only takes a little effort from someone mischievous. But I don't believe that you've been changing wrong info and having it reverted. I challenge you to go through your edit histories and find examples; almost everything on wikipedia has its history. Track it by clicking on your contributions link, and those of all your sockpuppets/mates IPs - find a list here, in the bottom paragraph. Those are the only IPs that were suspected of being linked to you. Find examples of valid edits (in your words, where you 'change wrong info') in those histories that were reverted by me or by any other member of this community. Back up what you claim. Go find three examples where something was wrong and you made it right, and then someone made it wrong again. I know you have made useful contributions, and I welcome you, as before, for that. But for reversion of useful edits, I stand by my challenge. --Firien § 6 July 2005 09:46 (UTC)
