[edit] Pigsonthewingipedia
Welcome to Pigsonthewingipedia, the free, open source page chronicling noteworthy actions taken by User:Pigsonthewing. As there has been considerable talk of the raising of a Request for Comment regarding this user, please feel free to use or refer to this page in support of that endeavour.
N.b. Any attempt to remove anything from this page or any other user page of mine will be reverted immediately. The 3RR does not apply to the owners of userspace. It still applies to other people, however:
- User pages
- The 3RR is generally not enforced against editors reverting changes to their own user page space, on the principle that your user space is yours.
A note on so-called "personal attacks" for the benefit of readers: The policy page states:
- "Many Wikipedians remove personal attacks on sight, and although this isn't policy it's often seen as an appropriate reaction to extreme personal abuse."
I leave it to the reader to decide whether anything written below constitutes "extreme personal abuse". I imagine that the number of users who see it as this could be counted on the fingers of one finger. I also draw the reader's attention to the words "'this isn't policy'".
Comments from User talk:Nick Boulevard:
-
- A futher note of behaviour by User:Pigsonthewing consisting of pretending any negative comments related to him are 'personal attacks' and using this as an excuse to remove anything that doesn't tally with his own very high opinion of himself: [1]. I'm not going to bother repeating myself, as my comments are quite safe and easily visible in the history here. 80.255 14:29, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
- P.s. I am not alone!
[edit] User:Pigsonthewing and his removal of any comments critical of him
This is intended to be an imcomplete list exemplifying how open to abuse the remove personal attacks guideline (not even policy) is.
[edit] Declaration of refusal to discuss edits
User:POTW now (12:28, 17 August 2005 (UTC)) declares that he will not discuss his edits with other contributors of his choice. [6]
- "I will not be responding to his posts on my talk page (or elsewhere), nor his demands that I justify my edits to him (nor, indeed, to any such posts made by people acting as his proxy)."
Readers will note that the definition of "people acting as his proxy" is left entirely at the whims of User:Pigsonthewing, and could potentially include every other contrributor to wikipedia. This is not, in the author's opinion, a very sensible course of action when attempting to build a consensus-based encyclopaedia.
