[edit] Needle
That would be fine, I just don't want the information itself lost. But moving it within the article, I'll leave up to your discretion :) Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 19:35, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Newspeak
hay, I found the article and you sudjested that the bottom section should be deleted. However it appears that you didn't delete it. I came to the same conclusion that you did in reading the article, and was going to go ahead but I thought it would be prudent to ask you why you didn't delete it just in case there was somthing worth wile that changed your mind (or you did and got met with great edit wars). - No, I simply forgot it... it has been done now. Probably, somebody will be discontent with this. Let's wait and see. -- 790 (talk) 20:40, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

- Well, I have waited almost a month...and no revert wars. Thank you for cleaning that up, it looks alot better. I also like your comment on the talk page, your explination was much better than the one I would have used. Coffeepusher (talk) 23:57, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Lino Ventura
Now tell me why my intervention on the Lino Ventura article was vandalism?? It is a true fact: he never acquired French citizenship and remained Italian. Purple Rose (talk) 10:54, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- Next time, instead of getting exited, maybe you would like to preview, or at least review, what you are doing. -- 790 (talk) 02:35, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Without Warning
That makes sense, so if you haven't already, you should just move the disambiguation page to the main namespace. My edit was just to prevent the original page from being speedied -- RFD wasn't needed for something like that. There might be some legwork involved because all pages linking to Without Warning need to be sorted out to avoid the dab page. 23skidoo (talk) 14:06, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well I can't, Without Warning has to be deleted first, that is why I marked it for speedy deletion. -- 790 (talk) 17:38, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] come sweet mess
[edit] the mess
Back in 2005, I created a short article on Come Sweet Death (orig. German: Komm, süßer Tod), an Austrian novel by Wolf Haas, made into a hillarious movie by Wolfgang Murnberger. When I checked again in 2008, I found the following:
- an article Komm, süsser Tod about a song from an anime series, and redirects Komm susser tod, Komm süsser tod, Komm, susser tod, Komm, süßer Tod (which is btw the only correct spelling of all of them!), Komm, Susser Tod, Komm, susser Tod and Komm suesser tod.
- Also, a piece by J.S.Bach, allegedly named Komm süsser Tod, with redirects Komm suesser Tod and Komm susser Tod
- Come Sweet Death for the novel, which doesn't actually seem to have been translated to English, but nontheless occupies the english title of the movie
- and, last, Komm Süßer Tod for the movie, incorrectly spelled, and with the redirects Komm Susser Tod and Komm Suesser Tod.
Needlessly to say that there is no disambiguation page, but they link and redirect each other in chaotic ways.
[edit] the measures
- I will explain here what I am trying to do, so that I can link here and don't have to explain it in every edit summary.
- Komm, süßer Tod will become a disambiguation page, linking to Komm, süßer Tod (novel), Komm, süßer Tod (film), Komm, süßer Tod (anime) and Komm, süßer Tod, komm selge Ruh, the correct title for Bach's piece (BWV 478)
- The four articles will be moved acordingly.
- check the redirects for deletion listed below for references and change them
- misspelled redirects.
- Komm, susser Tod can stay by Template:R from title without diacritics (and I will even add Komm, suesser Tod which would be the correct transliteration),
- Komm, süsser Tod can stay because it seems to be very common and WP:CSD#REDIRECTS says "redirects from common misspellings or misnomers are generally useful", although I personally do not agree with that.
- the following will be listed for speedy deletion by WP:CSD#Redirects: "Recently created redirects from implausible typos or misnomers":Komm susser tod, Komm süsser tod, Komm, susser tod, Komm, Susser Tod, Komm suesser tod, Komm süsser Tod, Komm suesser Tod, Komm susser Tod, Komm Süßer Tod, Komm Susser Tod, Komm Suesser Tod. The reason is because there are 45 possibilities to misspell the title, not counted those frome not having the diacritics available, and I guess we don't want to create them all - using a search engine is much more appropriate here.
- Then, Come Sweet Death will be made a redirect to the disambiguation page Komm, süßer Tod.
- clean the inline disambigs
[edit] will it work out?
I have made the experience that having articles deleted on en.WP is a rather slow, painfull process (compared to de.WP), even if the article in question is obvious nonsense. That doesn't exactly motivate me to try this cleanup, but we'll see. -- 790 (talk) 01:34, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
And I was wrong, it worked splendidly. Thank you, speedy deleter, and good night. -- 790 (talk) 02:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Better late than never?
I just saw your note here. I've tried my best to answer on the page, but to be honest I'm not sure if I addressed the whole point. Yes, they are similar in concept, albiet in a superficial way, but perhaps that should be made more obvious even for historical purposes. Maury (talk) 00:41, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
