[edit] Your recent edits
Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. [edit] New Beverly Cinema
Sorry for deleting your changes earlier. I had assumed it was vandalism, because of the typos and because the information was, honestly, not relevant to the article. I've clarified the progression of different incarnations of the New Bev, and incorporated your citation, since The New Yorker was a name that was left out of both the official website and the Hollywood Reporter's article. Good work on finding that. I have, however, deleted the reference to 1963, since there is no indication that the year was significant for the theater. Likewise, the fact that Streetcar played there in '63 is not significant, although it's inclusion as the first double feature of the Torgan era is, which is why the subsequent reference to it has stayed. I think it IS relevant.
Your paragraph has four facts. 1) in 1963, the theater was called the New Yorker. 2) in 1963, A Streetcar Named Desire played there 3) as the New Yorker, the theater was not pornographic. 4) in 1963, the movie was 12 years old.
I have already ammended the article to include facts 1 and 3. As for 2, thousands of movies have played there over the years, and there is so reason to include them unless the screening of those movies has had a specific impact on the theater, which is why Streetcar is mentioned later on in the article, which I also mentioned in my previous comments above. It also has no bearing on the theater to indicate that the movie was 12 years old. Tron played there last week, and it's twenty some years old. But that's not in the article either.
Where your information is highly relevant is in the Karyn Kupcinet article, where I see it already is included. I ask you in good faith to confine your edits to the New Bev article to information about the New Bev, not something that only impacts a completely different subject. For example, if you had the specific years that the theater operated as The New Yorker, that would be very helpful, or citable information about when and why the ownership/name of the venue changed. There are not very many contributors to this article, so any help is appreciated. However, if you persist with adding extraneous information I will ask for arbitration, since there aren't enough people actively discussing this article on it's own. If you wish to debate this further, I suggest doing so in the New Bev talk pages, where potential changes and additions should be debated in the first place Justinkrivers 16:36, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Very well, I will request a third party arbitrator. It may seem like a small issue, but I feel that the article deserves the best possible editing. In the meantime, I again invite you to discuss your opinions. Resolving this disagreement would be much easier if you were to explain your reasoning. I'll wait a few days to give you time to respond.
