Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to List of atheists, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Wikipedia articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add your reference to the article. Thank you. Anastrophe (talk) 00:24, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok, first of all, the SOLE REASON cited for taking the post down was "peacock" language. Is that clear? According to Wiki policy, this is not a good reason. Second of all, I DID cite the quotation. Here's another: http://www.chomsky.info/interviews/1990----.htm. And another: http://richarddawkins.net/userComments,page1,19142. And another: http://books.google.com/books?id=ILMLqu4I9NIC&pg=PA21&lpg=PA21&dq=%22my+position+is+that+we+should+not+succumb+to+irrational+belief%22&source=web&ots=DKcF0I_-3Y&sig=QMqLPWlyHCDtQnlo85nOEuQeJl0&hl=en.
Please, your are being irrational and petty. Put Chomsky's name back up on the list immediately. 76.24.27.138 (talk) 00:30, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- you have not included a citation in either of your last two attempts to add it to the list. if one of the above citations is reliable, then please use it. otherwise, adding an entry with a superscript "55" is not reliably sourced. Anastrophe (talk) 00:38, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Did you click on the last link? http://books.google.com/books?id=ILMLqu4I9NIC&pg=PA21&lpg=PA21&dq=%22my+position+is+that+we+should+not+succumb+to+irrational+belief%22&source=web&ots=DKcF0I_-3Y&sig=QMqLPWlyHCDtQnlo85nOEuQeJl0&hl=en. That couldn't be more reliable. Please, add Chomsky's name to the list. This is such a waste of time -- I'm so tired of dealing with you asshole high school kids. Put Chomsky's name back up, along with MY QUOTE OF CHOMSKY'S STATEMENT concerning his view of religion. Ugh!!! 76.24.27.138 (talk) 00:58, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- that's not at all equivalent to stating "i am an atheist". particularly in light of the comments on the chomsky.info page, where he states, "Do I believe in God? Can't answer, I'm afraid. ". sorry, at best that makes him agnostic. oh, and i graduated high school in 1977, not that it makes a bit of difference to your incivility. Anastrophe (talk) 01:11, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Did you read the rest of it? OMG I am a student at MIT, and I've asked Chomsky this. Chomsky here is stating that the idea of a God is incoherent, historically and philosophically. He says: "Are you asking whether I believe there is something not in the universe (or the universes, if there are (maybe infinitely) many of them), and that somehow stands above them? I've never heard of any reason for believing that." He continues: "Something else? What? There are many concepts of spirituality, among them, various notions of divinity developed in the Judaeo-Christian-Islamic religions..." Then he states: "Anyway, without clarification of a kind I have never seen, I don't know whether I believe or don't believe in whatever a questioner has in mind." He's making a point about the multiplicity of different characterizations of God. OMG, this is such a waste of time. Fine, don't put him up there, you fucking idiot. 76.24.27.138 (talk) 01:18, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

- you sound like you need a hug. Anastrophe (talk) 01:20, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
This will clarify it, you moron!!! "'Like everyone participating [in Science, Religion, Reason and Survival an Edge Discussion of BEYOND BELIEF] I'm what's called here a "secular atheist," except that I can't even call myself an "atheist" because it is not at all clear what I'm being asked to deny.'" http://www.celebatheists.com/index.php?title=Noam_Chomsky
You obviously aren't bright enough to understand what he was talking about. What a waste of my time. Do some research if you don't like the quote I give. 76.24.27.138 (talk) 01:23, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

- you still sound like you need a hug. i remember when i was in college, i was an insufferably self-involved and self-important sophomoric individual too. if you spend some time reading the talk page for the article, you'll see that celebatheists.com isn't an acceptable source, not by any measure, since any idiot can edit it, just like wikipedia. have a scrumptious evening! Anastrophe (talk) 01:26, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
"Like everyone participating I'm what's called here a "secular atheist,"" quoted from http://www.edge.org/discourse/bb.html#chomsky. What I need is for stupid assholes in high school to get off of wikipedia.76.24.27.138 (talk) 01:30, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
