- The easiest way to avoid messages intended for others is to register an account. I'm afraid that there's nothing that you can do to "protect your IP identity" short of notifying your internet service provider of the abuse. Hope that helps, Nihiltres{t.l} 05:23, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

IP addresses are usually shared between more than one person, and sometimes may even be cycled between users to protect their privacy (by their Internet service provider).
