[edit] Idaho: Nevada Test Site Reference: September 2007
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism and are immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. Repeatedly referring to Idaho as a continent and inserting "We got wind!" along with unsourced fallout comments amounts to simple vandalism. Vsmith 22:58, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
My only edit was adding a reference to the Nevada Test Site that reflects an official U.S. government map showing that Idaho received a significant amount of nuclear radiation fallout. I am sorry you do not like this information, but people and consumers are entitled to know the truth. Please become more familiar with the Wikipedia "neutral point of view" doctrine. Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Idaho. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Contact me if you need assistance adding references. Thank you. ► DRTïllberġ ◄Talk 02:12, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.
Please read the discussion page on Idaho before making further malicious edits. The reference to the sentence I added was listed in the link to the Nevada Test Site. Perhaps you should read this reference and look at the map before making false accusations. Just because you don't like the information does not mean that it is not true. Please review the Wikipedia "fairness doctrine" to understand that "all points of view should be reported". User: 76.184.140.85 04 Sept 2007
You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our polices concerning neutral point of view and biographies of living persons will not be tolerated. [edit] Telephone call and legal threat
I have posted a note regarding your phone call and legal threat on WP:ANI. Vsmith 22:40, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Indefinite block
Per Vsmith's report at ANI, which appears to be credible in light of recent discussion at Talk:Idaho, this account is blocked indefinitely. DurovaCharge! 22:44, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
I also reviewed this unblock request and I endorse Pascal's decision to decline. The question of legal threats aside, it is absolutely unacceptable to track down an editor's personal information and phone them, without their prior consent, regardless of whether you intended your verbal abuse and attempted intimidation to be interpreted as a legal threat and regardless of whether you have decided that Vsmith is biased against the Idaho nuclear fallout. That issue is minor in comparison to the real issue: your inappropriate behaviour. You wrote in this edit summary that you want arbitration and a review of Vsmith's actions. I've looked very closely at the actions of all parties involved on that article and I can't find any inappropriate behaviour on the part of Vsmith. He has tried to explain to you why your edits are not appropriate; you've refused to accept his explanations and advice and instead took to citing your claimed qualifications, rather than address the policy and guideline concerns raised. If you want to pursue arbitration, you will have to log into your account and email and arbitrator, however, having looked very closely at this case, I think your time would be better served reading the relevant polices and guidelines and then rethinking your behaviour. - I accepted this user's unblock request from their prior block above (before they escalated this dispute into the realm of legal threats), and I too endorse this block and the subsequent declining. This is completely inappropriate behavior, and cannot be tolerated on this project, for the reasons Sarah has succinctly described. --krimpet⟲ 19:15, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
