[edit] Mira Furlan Venetian? Friulian?

The article given as reference to the claim that her surname is of Venetian heritage makes no such suggestion. However, the word "Furlan" is the Friulian adjective for...Friulian, as was indicated on the Wikipedia page Furlan. Therefore, absent any other reference, I don't see why her page should state that her surname is of Venetian (rather than Friulian) heritage). --Alanmjohnson (logged as 76.175.153.96 (talk · contribs)

You're right about the Venetian bit, we should take that out. But I think that assuming her name is Friulian would be original research. I'm not an expert, but I know that various letter combinations can mean wildly different things in different languages, and have different root words and meanings. We don't have anything that says Mira Furlan's surname in particular is Friulian, therefore I think we should just take out the surname bit entirely. What do you think? Do you agree? --Fang Aili talk 23:38, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
