Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Vehicle insurance. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. -- zzuuzz(talk) 02:59, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Spam-tracking data:

[edit] Still more spam on Wikipedia from VsiSoftware.com, Inc. and Insureme.com

The latest domain to get spammed:

  • autoinsurancequoteonline.us

It's so cheesy you'd think they'd get embarrassed after a while.

autoinsurancequoteonline.us turns out to be another insureme.com site spammed from the same San Diego SBC/AT&T IP ranges that have so persistently spammed both VsiSoftware.com, Inc. and Insureme.com links in the past. (VsiSoftware.com, Inc. is in the San Diego area). These other links have been blacklisted as we've identified them.

The Wikimedia spam blacklist applies to all WikiMedia Foundation projects (Wikitionary, Wikipedia in many different languages, etc.) plus most of the 1500 to 2000 unrelated wikis that also run MediaWiki software. Depending on which rumors you believe in the black hat SEO community, the big search engines may also be consulting this list when compiling their own lists of link-spammers.
