Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. For one thing, if you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! cOrneLlrOckEy 04:26, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Attitude adjustment

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on Foo Fighters. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Tarc (talk) 20:55, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

the Foo Fighters album is not "grunge" seeing that it died in 1994 and the album was released over a year later. 74.79.76.146 (talk) 22:36, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Continued incivility in edit summaries

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Tarc (talk) 12:51, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the article My Hero (song) has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. Please use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did, and feel free to use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do. Thank you. Please be civil in edit summaries. ukexpat (talk) 03:41, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Sorry about that, someone just keeps changing the genre to "grunge" when it is completely absurd and incorrect. This user is basing it off of an iTunes playlist. Any help from the other editors is greatly appreciated. 74.79.76.146 (talk) 02:15, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on My Hero (song). Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Beve (talk) 02:57, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
