Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. --Elonka 00:26, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] General Hospital

Thanks for the great work on the GH pages! If you ever have any questions on wiki-ways, let me know.  :) --Elonka 00:26, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Gail Baldwin was not Alan Quartermaine's mother-in-law. Gail was merely Monica's foster mother when Monica was a child; she is not her biological mother nor did she adopt her.MysticBlue 05:03, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Mac Scorpio did not adopt Maxie and Georgie Jones, therefore he is only their step-father. Robert Scorpio is not their adoptive paternal uncle nor is Robin Scorpio their adoptive paternal first cousin.MysticBlue (talk) 09:53, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jacob

Unfortunately, we can't start posting the baby's name into Wikipedia articles until either (1) it's announced on the show; or (2) we have a published source that verifies the information. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. Where did you hear it, yourself? --Elonka 05:31, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] General note: Moves on Dr. Lainey Winters. Powered by Twinkle

[edit] June 2007

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, articles should not be moved, as you did to Dr. Lainey Winters, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. [edit] August 2007

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Alexis Davis. Please be more careful when editing pages and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you.  Tcrow777  talk  05:19, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Capitalization

  • Hello, 74.237.35.23. A heading (as in a title) for a section within an article on Wikipedia should not be capitalized all the way through, unless it's an official name or title...such as New York City.

For instance, on Wikipedia, a section that is titled Friends & Enemies...should actually be titled Friends and enemies. Refrain from capitalizing instances on Wikipedia that should not be capitalized all the way through. Flyer22 07:30, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with the page Noah Drake on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.

[edit] Dates of birth (DOB)

Do not add made up SORAS dates to articles. Fiction only has ages when it is not a soap opera. Continually doing so will constitute vandalism. This is your first warning. IrishLass0128 18:24, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
