[edit] June 2007

In a recent edit to the page Arctic fox, you changed one or more words from one international variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For subjects exclusively related to Britain (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. If it is an international topic, use the same form of English the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to the other, even if you don't normally use the version the article is written in. Respect other people's versions of English. They in turn should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you have any queries about all this, just ask anyone on Wikipedia and they will help you. Thank you. WODUP 18:57, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request for Medical Advice

Don't worry too much about the uproar. As a newbie, you're expected not to be completely familiar with how things are done around here; it is the people who responded who should have known better. Really, you just hit a 'landmine': this situation had been brewing for a while. It wasn't your fault.

However, it's a really bad idea to ask for medical advice over the internet. Anyone who has enough medical training to be remotely helpful knows better than to answer, so at the best you'll get incomplete answers, at worst completely wrong answers that could lull you into a false sense of security. If there's something that concerns you, see a doctor and show/describe the problem. They know a lot more than anyone who would answer your question here, and they'll be able to see and feel the problem as well. They'll know what questions to ask you. Basically, a doctor is your friend :)

Hope to see you around in less fractious circumstances. Skittle 22:36, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

P.S. You might consider signing up for an account, if you're going to be editing much. It takes a minute or two and doesn't require giving any information other than a username and password.
