[edit] My brother
Ok, it appears as though my brother, who stayed with me from time to time, has used my account once or twice to edit. (i.e. I never edited a page about "Air Force Special Tactics" as I know little about that subject. This is, what I assume, is my IP address, please note that when I edit, I sign in! Also changing my password to something less obvious to family members! Batman2005 (talk) 17:36, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.
Request reason: "a user (SWATJester) blocked me for inserting factual information that he disagreed with. He went through ABSOLUTELY no channels in order to block me, he just up and did it because he was upset. I've shown time and time again that my edits were wholly legitimate, and he's unable to accept that. Then he puts warnings on my page about vandalism (which I removed as no vandalism had ever occurred) then, without editing the article any further because it wasn't worth it, he blocks me for no reason. His actions are wholly out of line, if he wanted me blocked he should have gone to an administrator who was not involved in any sort of the discussion for a neutral viewpoint. I have also seen now, after further review, that the block os for one year, which is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. If SWATJester wanted to stop the back and forth editing, he should have directed me to the edit war page, and admitted that HE TOO was involved in an edit war, and that would have been the end of it. Instead, he has chosen to abuse his "power" by blocking a user for a full year...I think we can all agree that he's out of line in this instance. If unblocked I'll leave him and that page alone just to avoid this ridiculous circus."
Decline reason: "While I'm not sure that long a block, even for an anonymous IP, that has no previous blocks, is warranted, I will leave you blocked for now. I cannot find any instances of this edit war with Swatjester of which you write, save some removed warnings from another user's talk page (your own is one thing; someone else's is another). That's not an edit war; that's deliberately being disruptive, and the personal attack in your edit summary doesn't help your case either (Nor does this one, while we're on the subject). On the whole the pattern of your editing has been to remove a lot of things from articles for various reasons that you connect to policy. While this is certainly not a prima facie reason to block you, and you may well be right about some of them, you have not tried to work it out on the talk page with other users or find ways to work it out otherwise. Your edit summaries, even when not incivil, show you to be confrontational and tendentious. You shouldn't be surprised by this. — Daniel Case (talk) 17:20, 11 February 2008 (UTC)"

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. If you edit without a username, your IP address (74.142.88.126) is used to identify you instead.
In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. [edit] Michael Bradley
I wasn't trying to make a point or issue with the sentence you removed. At the time the sentence was added, I was doing a general overhaul of the Bradley article and added that information as context. It's not supposed to make any kind of "nepotism" point for or against. 65.190.89.154 (talk) 23:18, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- I see that you have removed the information again without responding to this note. I think it's important context, because it should be established in the article that Bradley was called up by a coach other than his father, which is unclear from the current article. In general, as the son of a national team coach, I think any information on his relationship with his father is germane. Also, I may get a source on Bradley's scoring habits (the other bit you removed, as OR); if one were used would you be good enough not to remove it? 65.190.89.154 (talk) 23:26, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Request reason: "4 days for an edit war and a content dispute is quite enough. Furthermore, the guy who was editing (my little brother as discussed on talk) is no longer here, he's back at school for the next 4 months! It's also apparently preventing my wife from creating an account. Batman2005 via my houses IP at 74.142.88.126 (talk) 17:28, 14 February 2008 (UTC)"
Decline reason: "Block is anon-only, so is not stopping you from editing once signed in. And if your wife is aware of WP:SOCK and specifically our policy on meatpuppets, she may request that an account be created by emailing unblock-en-l@lists.wikimedia.org. — Yamla (talk) 17:37, 14 February 2008 (UTC)"

There's a long history of bad edits, vandalism, personal attacks and such coming from this IP address. Accordingly, it should remain blocked for a long time, and any legitimate users may request an account as Yamla suggested above. Also the "little brother" argument is not very convincing, since this is February, and similar edits have been made back in December. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 18:40, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
