[edit] Citation style for Vanillin and civility

I think it was very rude of you to revert to your preferred citation style without so much as an edit summary. I'm not as dead set on it as you seem to be, so I'll let you have your way, but please try to be more civil. —Keenan Pepper 03:52, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Also, if you're so determined to use Harvard referencing, why don't you use the wiki machinery designed for it, rather than the ref tags designed for the other style? —Keenan Pepper 03:58, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

I apologize if you found my reversion of the citation style to be uncivil. I did not, however, do it silently, as it seems from your comment you think I did: earlier today I had left my reasons for preferring the other format at Talk:Vanillin. In response to your second question, the answer is, because neither Harvard references nor the use of cite.php alone work well when the notes consist of bibliographic citations, parenthetical comments, and comments that contain citations. For this situation, I have adopted the style used in several recent FAs, including Corinthian War, Belton House, and Gregorian Chant. 74.136.204.17 04:14, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

I can't tell that User:128.174.36.221 is the same person as User:74.136.204.17. Do you have a good reason not to create a username? You don't even have to give your email address. In fact, logging in gives your more anonymity; if you were logged in, I wouldn't be able to tell you were near Illinois. —Keenan Pepper 15:29, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Again, I'm sorry if I gave you m:Wikistress. I was afraid you would take it the wrong way, but when I tried to work on the article this morning, I found that passages like the "Occurrence" section of this version [1] had become unreadable in the edit box. 74.136.204.17 04:32, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

It doesn't seem "unreadable" to me; in fact it seems easier to edit, because the references are easier to find. —Keenan Pepper 15:29, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
