[edit] Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
Here are some other hints and tips:
- I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
- When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.
If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome!
Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian.—WAvegetarian•(talk) 07:07, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Sodomy. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia! DVD+ R/W 02:36, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Ernie Fletcher. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. DVD+ R/W 02:37, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to target users' pages for vandalism you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. DVD+ R/W 02:39, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to User:DVD R W, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Betacommand 02:40, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Your edit to Jesse Jackson
Your recent edit to Jesse Jackson (diff) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept my humble creator's apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. [edit] Vandalism in BluegrassReport.org
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to BluegrassReport.org, are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the hard work of others. Thanks. Regards, Nick—Contact/Contribs 02:35, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Academic Challenger 03:45, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
unblock reviewed:
- It wasn't me!
- decline=This doesn't appear to be a shared IP address; there's not very many contributions, and we can recognize a pattern in the contribs history. If it is shared, it's not shared very widely. Sorry. Luna Santin 01:33, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Very well. I've contacted the blocking administrator for comment. Luna Santin 05:58, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- As stated above, there have been very few edits made from this IP address. It doesn't appear to be a dynamically assigned address or an institutional one. The edits immediately preceding the one for which I blocked included similar vandalism to the exact same article. The comments made by Luna and what I just mentioned refer to the contribution history that is linked to above. You can see exactly what someone from this IP address has done by clicking ont the difference link next to each edit.
- For an IP that has made so few edits and done so in a spread out way it is highly dubious that just eight minutes after the vandalous edits someone is requesting to be unblocked because it actually wasn't them. I don't like blocking IP addresses for long periods of time and haven't blocked this one for that long either. As it seems to be so little used and mostly for vandalism, I don't think that there are any burning edits that must be made right now. If you truly wish to contribute to the encyclopedia please come back in a couple of days. I have added a welcome note to the top of this page with links to some of the basic things you should read about if you want to contribute. If any administrator finds my block to be excessive I have no problem with them lifting/shortening it. —WAvegetarian•(talk) 07:07, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
