Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Final Fantasy (series), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. -- wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 00:09, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your comment to wrp103:

I originally made an edit to remove what I believed to be false information - that Final Fantasy XI was the first in the series to feature a fully rotating camera. However, I decided that since I could not immediately verify that I was correct, I should not have made the edit. Consequently, I re-edited the entry to restore its original text. The point being, I may have acted rashly, but I quickly corrected my possible mistake, and I do not believe that my actions warranted any sort of reprimand - even one as mild as I received. — 72.47.33.85 (talk) 05:19, 14 May 2007 (UTC).

Thank you for the explanation, and my apologies for the mix-up. I should have noticed that you performed two edits, the second of which restored the original content. However, without any explanation in the edit summary field, you would have instead gotten a "uw-test2" message, telling you not to make test edits, even if you revert the change. The purpose of the edit summary field is to explain why you made the change, and helps assure others that you are trying to make honest changes. You would be surprised how many people seem to get their jollies by messing up articles.
Do you know about the "Show Preview" button? It allows you to see what your changes will look like. If you decide that you don't want to go through with the edit, you can simply close the window or click on the "Article" or "Discussion" tab to cancel your edit. I tend to do several previews before I save the page. And, of course, I always try to remember to fill in the edit summary field. ;^)
Another thing I would recommend is that you create an account and remember to login. People tend to distrust any anonymous edits. Also, it allows people to see the history of your edits, assuming you use different IPs to access Wikipedia.
Again, my apologies for the mix-up, and thanks for your efforts to improve Wikipedia. wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 14:16, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
