User talk:71.3.210.131

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Attention:

This IP address, 71.3.210.131 (host: fl-71-3-210-131.dyn.embarqhsd.net), is part of a pool of dynamically allocated addresses and is registered to the following organization Embarq. Applying an indefinite block to this IP is not appropriate, unless it is a soft block, because the IP address will later be reallocated to a different, unrelated, and unsuspecting user, thereby impairing access to Wikipedia in an inappropriate fashion. Comments left on this page may be received by other users of this IP and appear to be irrelevant. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking. In the event of vandalism from this address, efforts can be made to contact Embarq to report abuse.

The best approach is to determine the CIDR IP numerical address range and make a higher-level decision to soft-block the entire range. http://www.arin.net/ (for approximately North America) and related sites can help to identify that range. Caution is advised when applying a range block as other Wikipedians, both registered and otherwise, may be affected.

If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

[edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 02:16, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Best way to issue warnings:

Might I suggest using these standard warning templates when warning people for vandalism. It will help subsequent editors and administrators to better add to and/or implement punishment for their actions. --Bobak (talk) 00:58, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello again, they're in the link in my previous statement, you can find them if you click on the link below:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Template_messages/User_talk_namespace/Multi_level_details#Vandalism
These warnings (and the rest on this page) are helpful for helping us track how many warnings a person has received. Thanks for helping the project! --Bobak (talk) 01:05, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
