[edit] Regarding edits to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Protest Warrior
Thanks for your conscientious talk page reply. It should be noted that it is NOT acceptable to remove opinions from an afd page. A more appropriate technique is to place a note after the edit in question. I stand by my edits from before. It would be more convenient to respond to this on my talk page. --Alphachimp talk 06:40, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
I agree with Alphachimp's action to revert, though I'm not sure it was simple vandalism. You may continue to add your own comments to the AfD (preferably on it's talk page) but please do not try to sort anything or move anything around. It's complicated (I myself didn't do a great job of it) and you aren't likely to be trusted as an anonymous IP or a new user. Compare these diffs to see why it's hard to keep track of the changes: [1] [2]. I hope that clears it up for you. Since you are making so many comments, you might also want to go ahead and create an account.--Kchase02 T 07:25, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Alleged Vote deletion
In response to your question on AlphaChimp's talk, I reviewed the page. You did not delete any votes, though I understand completely why someone would think you did. There were 33 keep votes before you started messing with the page, and 33 afterward, but three of them got squirreled away in paragraphs instead of at the left side of the page (in the bulleted list) like they ought to be. To see them, go to your revision and word search for 02:49, 16 June 2006 (two of them in that paragraph) and 23:47, 16 June 2006 .
That being said, I totally agree with and support AlphaChimp's action to support you. Modifying pages like that is tricky and difficult. An anonymous IP user simply doesn't have the record of contributions and trust of the community necessary to do that kind of sorting and so forth. It's not an insult to you, it's just a precaution we have to take. Frankly, I'm not even sure I have enough experience or trust to have re-sorted, but time will tell. I'd encourage you to create an account and start editing articles (hold off on heavy sorting of AfDs for a long while) You obviously are very passionate about this AfD. We could use your passion somewhere around here. The Wikipedia:Community Portal would be a good place to start. Cheers and happy editing! --Kchase02 T 08:28, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- I looked over what I saw and agree with what you're saying KChase02. Even if you didn't have any bad intent (now I'm speaking to the IP address), it was very difficult to see in my cursory glance that votes were not removed...especially since they were placed in paragraphs. Thanks KChase02 for dealing with this so well, and thank you anonymous IP for being conscientious. --Alphachimp talk 21:52, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
