(FWIW I was previously welcomed at User talk:24.19.35.187. Theoretically I have a static IP, but it must have gotten reassigned after losing the cable Internet connection during the deadly Pacific Northwest Windstorm of 2006 (guessed wrong as to the name: December 2006 Pacific Northwest storms 71.231.107.188 20:22, 27 January 2007 (UTC) ). 71.231.107.188 21:40, 24 December 2006 (UTC) )

[edit] Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I noticed you are known only as an IP address; that means you are not signed up. To sign up, you only need to click Create account and choose a username and password. You don't need to provide any personal information. If you sign up, you'll have a username that others can use to recognize you and leave you messages on the wiki. You'll be able to sign your name just by typing four tildes (~~~~) when you leave someone else a message. Plus, you (and others) will easily be able to see a list of all your contributions to Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, ask at the Village pump, or feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! ReverendG 00:15, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Yahoo News

Good day. Would you mind sharing why you are removing links to Yahoo News from lots of articles? I bet that I'm not the only one who's curious. Thank you. --Takeel 05:06, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the reply on my talk page. Would you mind adding that information to your edit summaries? It's certainly useful knowledge. --Takeel 03:36, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

I was wondering the same thing, until I realized that the Yahoo news links turn into broken links over time. Perhaps that should be stated more often in your edit summaries when you delete them. That way we know to look for a more permanent link. --Joelmills 04:43, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop wholesale deleting of links

The important parts of a news citation are the publication, date, title, and (if any) byline. They are the vital information that allow readers to locate the cited article in newspaper archives, such as microfiche records. The URL is a bonus. That the URL changes is not a reason to remove citations. Avoid FUTON bias. (I learned this here. — Sebastian 02:09, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Second Request NOT to stop wholesale deletion of links (Please see above)

The editor above asked you nicely not to delete links to news articles. He even told you where to look for that rationale (above) and to the link in the word, "here". That link reads:

== Citations ==

The important parts of a news citation are the publication, date, title, and (if any) byline. They are the vital information that allow readers to locate the cited article in newspaper archives, such as microfiche records. The URL is a bonus. That the URL changes is not a reason to remove perfectly good citations. Avoid FUTON bias. Uncle G 12:48, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Please leave the links alone. Ronbo76 02:40, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] vandalism warning for numerous pages and refusals to reply to talk page requests for discussion

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ThuranX 03:02, 14 January 2007 (UTC) (please stop)

[edit] Editorial comment to Raúl Velasco

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Please do not insert editorial comments on articles. Ronbo76 22:39, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop unneccessary edits

Please, please stop. Ronbo76 23:07, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

His team seems to have a good grip on. Plus, the fact that this page is on my Watchlist means I will take care of the page along with the other regular contributors to it. Uncle G seems to have a good handle on it. Ronbo76 23:14, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Uncle G did it very effectively. When he replaced the link, that info is recorded in the History summary of edits. What you are reading in that link is advice which puts a little too much info on the page. Most editors know to check the summaries to see when and who changed the article. That info automatically records the date which is all the needed info. I trust Uncle G to do his thing. And, as I mentioned, I am aware of the change and watch the page accordingly for edits. I know what needs to be done with this page. Ronbo76 23:24, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop unneccessary edits again

You seem to be following my edits and reverting them. This category has been approved by the WP:CAL for native americans who lived and settled these areas. Please stop as this is your last warning. WP:CIVILRonbo76 04:53, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WP:CAL is helping another project - your unnecessary reverts are causing problems

Please see this Talk:Olompali State Historic Park and the category as placed there if you have any questions. WP:CAL is working with WP:IPNA to identify articles of interest for their project. Ronbo76 05:01, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Your next edit with editorial comments will be reported. Please this type edit comment made by this anon IP to a summary:
Yakety Yak (let's say what it is eh?)

Please respond that you understand and will stop these type edits. You have a history of being confrontational in your edits which fails WP:CIVIL. Reversing edits is not good. Ronbo76 05:08, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] PLEASE tell me Category:Native American tribes is not intended to be placed on articles about European-settled cities that displaced Native Americans

As is claimed here. Especially for cities where the related tribe has their own article, like Coloma, California. I don't see U.S. Euro-cities in any other state's Amerind cat. 71.231.107.188 05:12, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

This user has been following my edits and reversing them. As per our project's advice, we are identifying articles of interest for your project. It is my intent to join your project after I complete my work with the WP:CAL project. We worked on Talk:Olompali State Historic Park (please see that talkpage for our joint efforts).
Please see the typical edit warnings this user has his talkpage. He has been admonished not to do this type edit before (not just me) and is combative in edits with other articles. Ronbo76 05:18, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Item 10 on this talkpage was a very WP:CIVIL admonition to stop these types of edits. I asked him nicely after pointing our colloboration efforts to respond. Instead he made an edit to Olompali State Historic Park which affects three projects. Ronbo76 05:24, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thalía

Thanks for readding the stuff I reverted—I only looked at the diff spanning everything and missed the constructive stuff. Sorry for causing the extra work. —xyzzyn 19:40, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Uglies

Thank you for reverting my edit. I did not know I was using the tag incorrectly. Although in reality, I was leaving the tags there simply for the next person to edit it. However, it is a triology, not a series. That wasn't vandalism, just a minor rewording. Otherwise, good job. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tinlv7 (talkcontribs) 23:05, 31 January 2007 (UTC).

Just wanted to thank you for fixing my edit to the Template:Huntsville radio. -- I appreciate it! MicahDCochran 02:14, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
