[edit] This user did not vandalize Guitar

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, puerile edits, such as those you made to Guitar, are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing. Please consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. Will (Talk - contribs) 09:19, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

How would you classify the following?
You will soon find after playing for a reasonable amount of time, that you will spend more time on the toilet. Playing guitar on the toilet gives you more time alone to be able to express your creativty through music.

If not you, probably someone else with this IP. Is yours static? Have you considered creating an account and logging in? Will (Talk - contribs) 06:18, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

What are the odds someone else has the same IP as me? I'm wondering - I don't really totally understand the editing mechanics. It's possible I removed the vandal stuff and then somehow put the "old" version back making it appear I added it? Anyway I wasn't planning on bothering to create an account but at this point I may as well eh? If I have questions about how this stuff works creating an account may I ask you about it on your talk page?

Also I don't believe it's a static IP but it IS an "always on" connection through a router, so it's probably been the same for months. 71.146.169.85 06:27, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

I just looked at the edits made by 71.146.169.85 to guitar and it is obvious that he was removing vandalism as he stated. For someone to then accuse him of vandalism is vandalism. There have been problems with User:Will Pittenger where he has been reverting to vandalized versions of guitar.
I hope this hasn't discouraged you from contributing to Wikipedia. Next time ask for outside help, I will help if I can. You could probably remove this vandalism warning since it was so blatantly in error.-Crunchy Numbers 19:24, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
You seem to have a hard time navigating edit histories. From this page click on User Contributions and then click on diff at the edit from 04:37, 6 November 2006. It shows that this editor removed vandalism.-Crunchy Numbers 21:13, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

If you aren't talking about my most recent revert (as of then) to Guitar, why did you wait till now to bring it up. All you do is confuse me. Will (Talk - contribs) 08:34, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please sign your posts

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you!

I figured out who posted only by looking at the history for my page. Will (Talk - contribs) 06:12, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

As for the toilet comment, that's the largest section I removed. I removed several other words, such as "dildo". What gives you the idea that I added these things? Also, should I be replying to you on this page or on your talk page? /pardon the newbness 71.146.169.85 06:19, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Looking at it now, I figure I must have misinterpeted it. It would help if you used the edit summary. To help you out, I added a section to your new talk page about that. Will (Talk - contribs) 07:05, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Got my login. Hopefully this will help me de-vandalize things more effectively :) Speaking of which, how do you revert an article? I think my problem with the guitar page started because I was looking for all the individual naughty words that had been inserted instead of just being able to revert the whole thing to the pre-screwed-up version.

I normally use WP:POPUP. However, if there was a later edit you want to keep, you have to edit the page manually. Admins get more tools, but I really did not find much with that in the Wiki I admin (Wikia:ChristianMusic -- new users welcome). Will (Talk - contribs) 07:05, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I'm looking over the tutorials now. Though I'm a bit busy with school stuff right now so I don't think I'll be doing any more editing this week. Anyway, thank you much for all your patience and clarification :)

No, it wasn't you. Sorry about that. However, you forgot to log in when you responded. Will (Talk - contribs) 06:08, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
