[edit] About your edits at Davis Senior High School
Hi, I'm a former student there (and I can tell you probably are a current or former student yourself). I do have to ask you to not insert biased and non-referenced material though. The page as a whole is probably not too great with references, but no point making it worse. Anyway, as to the issues on race, I agree there are a lot. It's definitely an issue that needs to be discussed. I was involved with a Latino group on campus last year (not Los Latinos Unidos, a different one) and some of the things I heard were quite disturbing (I'm part Mexican, but I look white and hadn't had much interaction with the Latino community until then). I had already suspected it though. There are also problems with education disparities like you point out, since the school is pretty high achieving. A lot of people including some of my friends got left in the dust. But the way you are putting these issues in does not conform to wikipedia polices on neutrality. You are new so I don't expect you to have known this. What you can do is link to some news articles about the racial and educational issues and say that there have been concerns about it. And there probably should be something about Thong Hy When (I know I'm spelling the name wrong, I'm trying to do it phonetically). If you could review some of the resources I've linked to above, that would be great. I'm here to help. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions. - Wait, you just edited Eragon. One of my friends at the school liked that book. Do you still go to DHS? And did you ever leave and go somewhere else? Maybe the book is really popular, but if you're who I think you are it wouldn't surprise me that you said the things you did. Anyway, don't actually say your name (or mine if you think you know who I am) for privacy reasons. (well, you can say your's if you want, but I won't say mine). But if you are who I think you might be, it should be easy enough to tell you who I am without actually using my name. Anyway, why did you remove the part about STAR testing after I found a citation? Didn't you put it in in the first place? The Ungovernable Force 08:19, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- May I ask why you don't want to edit it anymore? You can if you want, I'm not trying to get you off the page. I would actually appreciate some help from someone else who has gone there. I was just looking at some stuff about the Youth In Focus group and their findings. I found some articles that I'll use as sources for racial problems. I'll try to find more tomorrow. - Well, you're not who I thought you were, but since we both graduated in the same year I probably do know you. I can't undue you edit history though (but I can undue your edits, but others already have so it doesn't matter). I'm glad you raised the issue at least, because I hadn't thought of putting it in, but I should have. Anyway, I'm the anarchist guy who used to have long hair, which should be enough to tip you off as to who I am. And we really could use more editors here at wikipedia. Is there any way I can convince you to stay? The Ungovernable Force 08:32, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know enough about computers to really say or not, but it might be. If that is your reason for not editing you can set up an account with a username and your IP won't be displayed (and only users with "check user" powers can find it out, and it's only given to the most trustworthy editors, probably less than a dozen actually have it, and they only use it in cases where someone is suspected of having multiple accounts and abusing it). I can ask and administrator about it though. I think they may be able to wipe your history out, but I wouldn't count on it. And I totally understand the privacy thing. Chances are nothing will come of it though. Well, have a good time, maybe I'll see you at a reunion sometime--of course I won't know who you are :) The Ungovernable Force 08:42, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

- Hello. I just came across your concern while checking Wikipedia's Recent Changes. The safest thing to do is as The Ungovernable Force suggests -- register an account and your IP will no longer show. Even if you choose to edit under this IP, you don't have to worry too much about an IP trace leading back to your house. Most tracers will trace back to the service provider and show some geographical information for the registered location of the provider. The location of the provider could be quite far from your actual location (we're talking an hour's drive or further). Here are three tracers for you to check. Just enter your own IP and see the results they give. [1] [2] [3]. I'm no expert on tracing people, though. It may be possible to acquire more information using WHOIS. We welcome you and hope you continue to edit Wikipedia. There are several advantages to creating an account, in addition to concealing your IP address, and I encourage you to do so. Happy editing! This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
