[edit] Canadian Parliaments

In answer to your question last month about Canadian government, most Canadian parliaments have had one party win over 50% of the seats by itself, so it did not have to form a voting block with any other party. This is mostly due to Canada's first-past-the-post voting system. In the few examples where no party won a majority by itself, other parties chose to support the governing party on a bill-by-bill bases. The only example of a coalition government in Canada was during WWI. --Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 15:36, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
