User talk:71.112.4.204

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is suspected that this user might be a sock puppet or impersonator of 71.112.115.22.
Please refer to Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress#IP Low and User talk:131.107.0.80 for evidence. See block log.

First it was 71.112.115.22 (talkcontribspage movesblock userblock log), then it was 131.107.0.80 (talkcontribspage movesblock userblock log), and now this. Moving to another IP address doesn't make you any less guilty for running an unauthorised bot as you seem to be doing. If you're not a bot, please reply to confirm. -- Smjg 11:48, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

I really did all that work myself. I am not a bot. 71.112.4.204 23:34, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Ksnow

Thank you for your acknowledgement. While I'm at it, I've noticed that a few times you've unlinked dates on the year pages. Please don't. Both by consensus and for a practical reason, all instances of a date on these pages must be links. Wikipedia allows users to set the format in which dates are displayed, and this format is applied only to dates that are links. Unlinking them thus breaks the format for many of us. -- Smjg 12:49, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

I have systematically been doing this, but I will now systematically link them. 71.112.4.204 23:44, 14 November 2005 (UTC)Ksnow

[edit] 1989

Thanks for your contributions. However, the policy on these pages is that, in general, one link per date is sufficient, so if there are multiple individuals with the same birth date, you only link the first one. I have therefore reverted your changes. --Nlu 20:40, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

That's not correct. See: Wikipedia:Timeline standards, Wikipedia:WikiProject Years. There may be some confusion here because the standards were recently clarified (See: Wikipedia:WikiProject Years/August 2005 survey results).I'll return your edits User:71, but I suggest you get a username and use an edit summary. Perhaps the one I use:
"standardize according to [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Years|WikiProject Years]]"

Keep up the good work - Trevor MacInnis (Talk | Contribs) 23:55, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

As it turns out, I am in the wrong here. You (and Trevor) are correct. I misunderstood the rules. I am sorry about the confusion. --Nlu 00:09, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
Here's some chocolate. Please forgive me. --Nlu 00:11, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
