[edit] RE: Your HES Message
The statement seems spamy with no dates nor names. That’s why I thought someone disguised as a student & trying to sell the school. I see these kinds of “responses” all the time. I respect continue education, I helped to improve the article & added the “admission” section with references. HES is a great place to learn, but you have to face the fact that it’s quite different from Harvard College. For example – Admission Requirements. TheAsianGURU (talk) 17:18, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well ofcourse its quite different from the College. They're two different schools. That does not mean that one is better than the other but that they simply have different admissions requirements. I was trying to highlight the fact that the school is a legitimate school of Harvard University as much as the College is. The social stigma that surrounds the school hurts its efforts of promoting continuing education.
-
- Then why didn't you come up & said so. Instead, you went on a rampage of attacking me, including calling me an "Asian Prestige Whore". The school IS a part of Harvard, but it's NOT like its sister schools, as I pointed in the article --- It's geared toward professionals to go back to school - to get into continuing education. I didn't change anything in the article apart from adding the “admission” section with references. It has many highlights in the article and I thought they were great. This is an encyclopedia, admission requirements of HES has to be pointed out. TheAsianGURU (talk) 18:14, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

- The sister schools all have seperate missions and admission requirements. Look I appologize for mentioning ASIAN prestige whore, but I will not apologize for stating that you are a bit elitist. If you really believed that the school was a part of Harvard you wouldn't have added that little quip about me pretending to be a Harvard student. If that doesn't scream prestige whore, then I dont know what does.
- Apology accepted. As you pointed out, every Harvard school has different missions. No, I don’t agree with lots of things, but I didn’t go into the article & remove sections. I did think you were spamming at first & your actions at the beginning (the 5 IP Removes plus RVs fit right in.) After your “Huh?” reply, I stated my reasoning. Instead of stating back your reasoning, you started name calling. I am grateful for my education at Harvard & I would recommend people (who can afford) to go to HES when they want to return to school. However, by removing the “Admission” section and use the name “Harvard” you are misleading people. HES is geared towards Continue Ed & that’s even on the mission statement in the first page on its website. If that’s the case, there is no need to hide that fact. I didn't remove the admissions section. I had no idea that the article had been tampered with several times. I love the way the article protrays the school. And Asian, even Harvard Extension wants its students to tell people they're going to Harvard University. We only state our affiliation as Extension, much like a College students states his school and house he belongs to. But I agree that the name calling on my part was uncalled for. I apologize for any inconvienence. I am not trying to paint the school as equal to Harvard College or the sister colleges, but only as part of the university. I would never do that and always remind people that while I go to Harvard and am a Harvard student, that I attend the Division of Cont.Ed (and as a degree candidate, not just attending classes). Also, is there any way we can remove my posts on the other discussion page? I mean its not only embarassing to me but I just do not want the whole debate over "is Harvard ES really a part of Harvard" to be on a wiki article. It makes the school look bad and the article itself has plenty of sources indicating that it is a legitmate school. We get enough flak from people who do not understand the school's mission at all. I promise I will refrain —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.64.35.197 (talk) 19:04, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
But wait a minute, Asian. Now that I look at the article and see the new admissions section. I do not mind it, but isn't this a given? I mean its mentioned in the whole article that the admissions process is different and even shows what those admissions standards are in the article itself. Why is this section needed?
- I just fixed it. I linked both sections together and it's now 1 section. TheAsianGURU (talk) 19:24, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
