[edit] Proposed deletion of Greenbee

Hello,

I noticed that you marked the above article with a {prod} tag. I'd agree that the article does not seem to establish notability at present, but have a couple of concerns:

  • The parent company's first annual results since the launch of this subsidiary will released in the next few weeks, and editors may find it easier to establish notability once these are available
  • WP:CORP doesn't actually clarify whether subsidiaries need to establish notability separately, or if the notability of the parent automatically qualifies them. The closest it comes is in the section Chains and Franchises which doesn't seem to be referring to subsidiaries.
Queried this on Wikipedia talk:Notability (organizations and companies)#Subsidiaries, response was that a subsidiary does not "inherit" its parent's notability Davidprior 19:08, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

However, I've not removed the prod as:

  • I'm not sure if this is a good enough reason not to delete
  • As a John Lewis employee (albeit one who has never edited the Greenbee article) it could seem like a conflict of interest
With one of my two concerns dealt with, the one remaining concern does not in my opinion justify keeping. Cheers, Davidprior 19:08, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

If you reply here or on my talk page that you've seen these concerns but feel the prod should stand, I'll consider the matter closed Cheers, Davidprior 16:36, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
