You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Transsexuality in Iran. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. ... discospinster talk 01:28, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
As an encyclopedia, I think we need hard facts, not consensus.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.176.144.149 (talk • contribs)
- The "hard fact" is that this individual is now a woman. If you have evidence to dispute that then you are free to add it. ... discospinster talk 13:43, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Show me how it is possible to change gender. It can't be done, the best that can happen is somebody can modify the physical appearance of their genitalia to appear different, but they are still in fact the same sex.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.176.144.149 (talk • contribs)
- "Gender" and "sex" are not necessarily the same thing. See the article on Gender. ... discospinster talk 23:31, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm...you've got me there, but then there is that keyword being "necessarily." That is a semantics argument, and a valid one at that, but the fact remains that they still the same sex. They may want to be a different sex, but facts do not conform to what we want them to, (unless it is something we can set, e.g. "it is a fact that this is my opinion,") facts just are what they are. That is, unless you want to invent a new language that specifically identifies third person pronouns based on a more dynamic gender.
