Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
Here are some other hints and tips:
- I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
- When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.
If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. Also, I'd like to know if you have first-hand knowledge of Ir Ovot. [edit] Asia (band)
Welcome to Wikipedia. You keep making significant changes to the Asia page, removing all reference to the John Payne-era of the band. That era of the band did occur and produced multiple releases, therefore it should be covered by the article. Clearly many other editors disagree with your changes. If you wish to argue your point, you would do better discussing the point on the relevant Talk page rather than just making the same edit over and over. Bondegezou 14:32, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Reply The two asias simultaneously operate under separate registrations this is not vandalism.
- Currently, there are two Asias operating, the reunion of the original band and Asia Featuring John Payne. However, that has not been the case for most of the band's existence. The band with Geoff Downes and John Payne was, for many years, the only Asia band in existence. Your edits are wrong in fact in ignoring that history. I suggest again, if you wish to argue the point, take it to the Talk page for Asia (band) where you, me and other editors can work towards a consensus together. Bondegezou 14:44, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- May I also point out something called the three-revert rule on Wikipedia: see 3RR. This is a rule to prevent back'n'forth editing going on. Basically, you should not revert more than three times in a 24 hour period (except for vandalism and some other exceptions). If you feel an edit should be made and you have already done 3 reverts that day, you should discuss the matter on the Talk page and see if any other editors support your position. [edit] Warnings
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. 142.166.250.216 (talk) 18:49, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Sockpuppetry case
You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Mondrago for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. Compwhiz II(Talk)(Contribs) 03:57, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Public Computer
I just went to Wikipedia on this computer and saw that there was a new message for this ip address. I just thought I'd let you know that this is a public computer so I don't know if these messeges are getting to anyone.
[edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 18:47, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
