[edit] reason for 6th October City

Is this city named for the Arab-Israeli war that began on 6th October 1973 ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October_war 69.253.223.34 05:13, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes, according to this site: http://cairo.wantedinafrica.com/area_description.php?id_area=379 Additionally may I just explain my alteration of the population. 6th October city is nowhere near 12 million in size, and the Robert Fisk article quotes an exceptionally unreliable source. Cairo itself is only 7.7million! Additionally, one of the sources actually states that it is 500,000 and not 9-12million at all and was thus spurious. Wow, this is by far one of the worst articles about Egypt. It needs a lot of work. I would love to improve it but I do not have any information about that city that could be used in its article. Abdallah (talk) 19:56, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
