6th October City is a municipality in Egypt and the capital 6th of October Governorate, some 20 km southwest of downtown Cairo. This city was announced to be capital of the 6th of October Governorate in April, 2008.
Population: About 500,000 [1]
A new cosmopolitan city, it hosts students of many nationalities who seek education at its private universities.
It also considered from the first generation of new cities in Egypt.
