6th Coast Artillery (United States)

The 6th U.S. Coast Artillery was stationed at Fort Winfield Scott during World War II to guard minefields and the anti-submarine net that spanned the Golden Gate. The unit disbanded September 15, 1945, and was later reactivated as the 6th Air Defense Artillery Brigade.
