6IX is historically one of the earlier radio stations in Perth, Western Australia, initially run by W.A. Broadcasters Limited. The official opening of Radio Station 6IX was by the President of the Western Australian Legislative Council Sir John Kirwan, on the 30th November. 1933
Currently it is a joint venture radio station run by Capital Radio Network and Grant Broadcasting. It plays mainly classic songs of the 1950s to 1980s.
In Western Australia, 6IX broadcasts on the 1080 AM frequency. Listeners in Joondalup or Rockingham can tune in at 105.7 FM.

6ix has four different hosts for different days.
- Johnny Young hosts the big breakfest, 5:30am to 9:00am,from Monday through to Friday featuring regular segments such as 'Football' tips and 'international gossip'.
- Brian Lehman hosts from 9:00am to 2:00pm, his segment features 'workplace requests' and 'number ones at one'.
- Gordon O'Byrne takes over from 2:00pm to 6:00pm and features, 'weather updates', 'news' and 'traffic reports'.
- Steve Nikola presents '60's at six' and '70's at seven', his segment runs from 6:00pm to 12:00am.
