[edit] September 2007

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Lydia Hearst-Shaw. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Contact me if you need assistance adding references. Only Evening Standard is mentioned as a source, but the quote is not presented in a neutral tone and does not give a specific citation (e.g. date, page number). The other information you added does not attribute any sources at all. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 03:25, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, which wasn't included with your recent edit to Lydia Hearst-Shaw. Thank you. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 03:25, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edit(s) to Lydia Hearst-Shaw, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thank you. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 03:25, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Lydia Hearst-Shaw. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 03:28, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Lydia Hearst-Shaw, you will be blocked from editing. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 03:35, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for repeatedly adding/restoring unattributed text about a living person.. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.
As the person adding (or restoring) the information, you must bear the burden of proof and cite reliable sources. This is Wikipedia policy, please read WP:PROVEIT. You mentioned that there are over two hundred such sources, so it should not have been difficult for you to select just a few that back up the text. Thank you, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 21:08, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Once again: As the person adding/restoring the information, the onus is on you to cite those sources in the article (or at least bring them up on the article's talk page). Did you read WP:PROVEIT as requested? This is Wikipedia policy and it is particularly important when the biography of a living person is involved. You are welcome to try and change this policy. Failing that, any further additions on your part that lack proper attribution may result in a subsequent block. If you disagree with my actions as an administrator, you are free to complain at Administrator's Noticeboard/Incidents (or visit dispute resolution). Thanks in advance for your consideration, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 14:10, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
P.S. In response to your comment, "I would think you have a strange and unnatural obsession or dislike with Lydia Hearst. Why do you care what is in her wikipedia page anyhow?" I had never even heard of Lydia Hearst, and quite possibly never would have, until I noticed problematic edits with the article (this does not only refer to your edits), which as a long-time Wikipedian does concern me. One might, instead, ask why you care so much what is in the article. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 14:20, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
