[edit] This Whisper number hoo-hah

Whilst I feel an insane amount of regret getting drawn into this now (never again shall I recent changes patrol)...and I still don't know what a whisper number is lol ;)

I've created a section on the talk page asking him and yourself to explain both your edits and hopefully come to some sort of consensus and have also reverted his changes back to the pre-Nov 07 edit.

To be honest I'm not sure what you can do about the user as I have no real knowledge of what constitutes vandalism and how you would go about reporting it. I'll have a look at some policies and leave a comment on his talk page asking him to contribute. Agent452 (talk) 01:44, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Post on his page here and from what I can see a decent case can be made for the edits to be argued as advertising. Think we should allow him/her a week to respond on the articles talk page/my page/your page (or until he undoes all the edits again and I'll delve further into reporting him for it) Agent452 (talk) 01:56, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] January 2008

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Whisper number. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Agent452 (talk) 17:37, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.

Hey fellow wikipedia editor at IP 69.69.74.108: your comments on Agent452's user page are needlessly aggressive. Please take it down a notch, check out CIVIL, listen to some nice music, and realize how many more things in life are more important than edit battles on the internet. Cheers. Aside from the very aggressive tone that's already been mentioned I think you either have the actual edit I made mixed up or there may have been some kind of cock-up with Twinkle. Checking the edit history I'm almost certain it's the latter as Rollback undoes all edits made in a row by a user. The edit I intended to delete was this one [1] which seemed like personal opinion and rather unconstructive. Hope that makes sense now. Agent452 (talk) 10:40, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

yes, much better things unless it affects your livlihood...(ie pays the bills). Not sure where 'twinkle' comes into play here, i don't see any reference there so I don't understand. its just that the revisions made since Nov 2007 have 'added' content that doesn't exist - actual references to news articles were modified to include earningswhispers when the original article made no such reference. And as the originator of this article (i am asking once again for it to be removed) I was always told I couldn't post 'opinion', and yet the person that has made changes is doing just that. why aren't those edited and corrected and the article reverted back to pre Nov 2007? every attempt i have made to do so he has un-done, and then reports me for vandalism (or i get to the point of psoting nonsense to get some attention to this.

Twinkle is a tool that makes undoing vandalism easier by allowing you to undo all the edits made in a row by a particular user. I reverted this edit "It's incredible to think that anyone would actually believe professional analysts are providing a better earnings number to this site, isn't it? Has anyone been able to prove that thye actually get data from professional analysts? Have they ever been able to prove it? Sounds fishy to me." which at the time looked like personal opinion however by doing that I also undid all the vandalism correction you yourself had done. Even re-reading it now it seems like what appears as personal opinion may instead have been an excerpt added from a news article without the quotations extended to include it also so what was a genuine edit did appear as vandalism. And so I apologise as it was simply a mis-understanding that lead to this. If you had not done so already please undo my edit and happy editing Agent452 (talk) 18:19, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Don't go and get all reasonable on me here...may get you banned from wiki...  ;) Could you do me a favor? Could you revert it back to the pre Nov 2007 article? Not sure how to do that on my own. (The changes from Nov 2007 that started this whole mess were made by an IP address that has since been banned for vandalism violations, after that the changes were just an attempt to add earningswhispers.com where ever it seemed to fit - and that meant modifying actual news article comments that had been sourced - just a quick look at the sourced quoted comments show that.) 69.69.74.108 (talk) 18:48, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 18:41, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
