Hello, don't know if you are reading this or not. And was not sure why edits were being reversed. But Company Seven is not just a ditributor, they are a museum, and are involved in design of some products for Questar. And Questar and Cumberland Optics do custom work for Company Seven.

Your article puts out several points of view that discredit the fine instrument. It may be that some people expect too much or too little of a 3-1/2 (yes 3-1/2 not 3.5!) instrument, but it has been a successful concept for longer than many of us have been alive - and has been imitated by many, in numerous ways (including one who also copied the star chart on the barrel). I have posted fact, and fact based on experience - nothing more. I am happy to discuss, but lets keep things to facts.

You quote one amateurs opinion of the Questar, but edit out any balance I offer to the conversation. I have posted fact, and fact based on experience - nothing more. I am happy to discuss the telescope, but lets keep things to facts and for opinions please present both sides.

And I recommend you leave the link to C7's archive, that web site does more for amateur astronomy than most other web sites do. And the site is not sales oriented (no on line ordering, etc.) and the vast percentage of its Web site content is dedicated to helping those who have discontinued or other interesting telescopes. Note, C7 does not even advertise to the amateur community - its main work is for government and industry. The showroom is mostly a museum and hub of the local astronomy community.

Hello Martin. By the statement "Questar Owner" do you mean that you own the company or you personally own a telescope? In any case your edits are causing quite a stir and it appears that you have a conflict of interest, see WP:COI. I would recommend discussing your concerns with the other editors over at Talk:Questar_Corporation. The company7.com and bosendorferimperial.com external links you have been adding are self-promotional and are WP:SPAM. Please stop adding external links. (Requestion 15:44, 12 May 2007 (UTC))
Another hello Martin. My edits to the Questar page come from first hand knowledge of the instrument as an amateur astronomer and on a professional basis building/rebuilding them at another company that I no longer work for. I have no axe to grind as far as Questars... I simply call it like it is using "apple pie" descriptions and stuff that I can find citations for. As others have stated, Wikipedia is NOT a place for product promotion... but it is a place for a notable product's description. When you add "these criticisms seem to miss the points that have contributed to the more than 50 year production success of the Questar", you are adding your opinion to an article, something that is specifically countermanded by Wikipedia policy (WP:NPOV). The hunt for BIAS has made me look closer and remove other non-cited statements added by me and other editors. Some of your other edits have been helpful and I have edited and integrated them when I can but many have been lost in reverts of your continual re-adding of POV edits to the article. According to Questar and Company Sevens websites the "Astro 7" is a Questar product that Company Seven simple does custom modifications to. On that basis mention of Company Seven does not seem to cross the threshold re:Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). One thing I do agree on is that the Company Seven documents page is a valid external link since it seems to meet the requirement of that page containing useful information and not containing obtrusive advertising. But that is debatable since it does contain biased testimonials, thats not something the article would contain if it became a Featured article (WP:EL). Halfblue 03:54, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Company Seven links

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Questar Corporation do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Adding this link in succession to Questar Corporation, Johnny Carson, Meade is borderline spam. Consider adding content to the article its self. Halfblue 02:35, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Since you are continually ignoring Wikipedia guidelines and any discussion on talk pages you can expect any future edits to be reverted as vandalism. If you persist I will nominate your IP for a block. Have a good day. Halfblue 21:10, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Editing other user's comments on talk pages

Greetings. I've reverted your changes to one of Halfblue's comments on the Talk:Questar Corporation page. Since you are new you probably aren't aware that the only time we usually do things like that at Wikipedia are in cases of violations of WP:NPA policy. We appreciate your interest in the Questar series of articles, or any other articles you can improve, but there is a passive encyclopaedic tone that will help you avoid intimations of WP:COI or spamming.

Also, creating a user account is almost instantaneous. With a username, you'd have a user page and, more importantly, a talk page, where people could discuss the articles you've been editing with you. Your edits are probably more likely to be taken as good faith if you contribute as registered user than under an anonymous IP. See here.
