Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Neighborhoods and projects in Detroit, Michigan. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. 24fan24 01:08, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to R. Lee Ermey, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --T-dot 00:29, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism, and if you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. evidence of deliberate vandalism --T-dot 00:38, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
[3] Your recent contribution(s) to the Wikipedia article Henry Hill (mobster) are very much appreciated. However, you did not provide references or sources for your information. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a drive to improve the quality of Wikipedia by encouraging editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. If sources are left unreferenced, it may count as original research, which is not allowed. Can you provide in the article specific references to any books, articles, websites or other reliable sources that will allow people to verify the content in the article? You can use a citation method listed at inline citations that best suits each article. Thanks! Gimmetrow 14:08, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You continue to do nothing but vandalize pages. You have been asked repeatedly to stop it. This is your last warning, and any other changing of birthdate years will result in a request to block your further activities. Please stop vandalizing pages by adding false information. Thanks for your attention. further evidence of your vandalism efforts --T-dot 15:14, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please use edit summaries
Many of these edits could be legitimate, such as to Lorraine Bracco (1954->1955), or Robin Williams (1951->1952). There are sources which give these numbers, though at least for Williams the original date seems better supported. On the other hand, I know of no source for Lou Ferrigno giving 1950. An edit summary explaining the source would help other editors immensely.
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Gimmetrow 16:54, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- I certainly do not have a problem with this user CORRECTING birth date years to reflect the truth, provided some kind of proof is given in the form of a link to an authoritative web site or other source. The evidence indicates however that the changes made by this user were in fact arbitrary additions or subtractions of a year or two or ten. It may be that the user inadvertently hit on a "correct" year purely by accidental coincidence, particularly if there are "source information" sites that have alternate years of birth posted as well. But there are other cases in the contributions list where the user made a change to a false year, and then changed it back to the correct year, either to confuse the anti-vandalism patrollers, or to make the latest edit look like a true and legitimate one. Either way, I think it would be good practice for us all to provide a reference link and edit summary any time such a change is made. In the case of celebrities with two or more possible birth years, then we should post all of them with an explanation and, again, reference sources for proof. Thanks! --T-dot 18:41, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Concerning your block
If you leave a message on this page (the only page you can edit while blocked) promising not to vandalize any more, I will consider shortening your block. AnnH ♫ 17:14, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- And a piece of advice for when you return — if you are inserting anything into an article that people will wonder about, explain it in your edit summary and in the discussion page of the article (which you can get to by clicking the word "discussion" at the top of any article.
