[edit] Al Sharpton
Hello.
One of Wikipedia's core principles is that material has to be cited to verifiable reliable sources. This is especially important when writing the biography of a living person.
Sharpton's article describes some of the criticism that is made against him:
- Sharpton's critics describe him as "a political radical who is to blame, in part, for the deterioration of race relations".[8] Conservative writer and activist David Horowitz has called Sharpton an "anti-Semitic racist",[9] sociologist Orlando Patterson has referred to him as a racial arsonist,[9] and liberal newspaper columnist Derrick Z. Jackson has called him the black equivalent of Richard Nixon and Pat Robertson.[9]
It also has sections about his involvement with the Crown Heights riot and some of his other controversial statements. But all of those things are cited to external sources, not based on the opinion of Wikipedia editors.
I hope you understand. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 23:43, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
