[edit] Expatriates
For your information, I don't hold anything against expatriates having been one myself - born in Kenya, brought up in Nigeria and educated in Singapore and the UK, where I have lived since 1989, not that has stopped me from travelling around the world and learning other languages.
However, I wouldn't use the term Third Culture Kid which is just silly, nor would I apply it to anyone else I know with a similar background to mine.
The references to former British expatriates as 'When I's and 'FILTH - Failed In London Try Hongkong' are not regarded as derogatory, and in any event they are now a bit dated now that the sun has set on the Empire and British citizens can no longer work in Hong Kong without visas.
