[edit] Mexican-American War

The general consensus for the time being is that the name of the war is the Mexican-American War. If you feel so inclined, there is a discussion regarding the name on the talk page you can participate in if you wish to show support for calling it the Mexican War. I'm reverting your edits because they are unsupported, undiscussed, and they have broken a number of links, most notably a few in the See Also section (Battles of the Mexican War -> Battles of the Mexican-American War, etc.). As the title of the article is Mexican-American War, I will continue to keep the article referring to that. If you have evidence to the contrary, put it on the talk page instead of constantly eliminating every reference to the Mexican-American War without discussion, which will simply get you vandalism warnings. --clpo13(talk) 20:56, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Using talk pages

Hey, there, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for your time and contributions. Feel free to have a look at the community portal to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. I see things seem to have gotten off to a rough start, here, so just a quick note, here. If you would be so kind, please make use of talk pages to discuss controversial edits -- see how to use a talk page. You should also feel very free to make use of Wikipedia's robust dispute resolution process. In the current situation, it appears that you and other editors are simply edit warring back and forth; it's really much better if these issues can be talked through. Thanks. – Luna Santin (talk) 22:00, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

"Philippine Insurrection" only reflects a US-centric POV. The more neutral "Philippine-American War" was used as far back as the 1960s or 1970s, I think - but by Filipino historians. Uthanc 08:45, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
