[edit] January 2005
- Thanks for trying to help out with Wikipedia, but I think that you messed up the village of Herkimer article, with erroneous material and deletions of data. Try to do better. Stepp-Wulf 04:48, 15 January 2006 (UTC).
- Stop VANDALIZING Herkimer (village), New York. I have already fixed it once by removing the false, silly, and plagiarized material. Stepp-Wulf 03:36, 23 January 2006 (UTC),
- Regarding repeated vandalism of Herkimer (village), New York.

- This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Jwissick(t)(c) 01:33, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

- Stepp-Wulf objects to content I've posted on Herkimer (village), New York, however none of the content is incorrect, and it most certainly does not violate copyright material. The material is my own. I personally wrote it. I can't plagiarize myself. As the village historian, I am quite confident that my facts are correct.
- Ahem, the site says " © 2006 Village Of Herkimer, Herkimer County". This implies that a single individual does not control the copyright license, even if one wrote it (after all, did you release all rights to it?). Furthermore, even if you were the copyright holder, it's currently not under a free use license. This means that when you edit this page, "You agree to license your contributions under the GFDL.", just liek it says on the edit page. Therefore, unless the site says that its material is released under the GFDL, public domain, or similar, Wikipedia can't use it. Because Wikipedia will have mirrors, and its the spirit of Wikipedia to have it freely distributed. Unless you envision the fact that people who use Wikipedia can freely copy the material and redistribute it . I will unblock you - but you must agree not to reinstate the copyrighted material unless the material is relicensed. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (Be eudaimonic!) 14:37, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- You have repeatedly vandalized Herkimer (village), New York by inserting false information, and reverting corrections to restore the same false information. You have been warned repeatedly, and have already been blocked once. Please desist.
- This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Stepp-Wulf 01:10, 29 January 2006 (UTC).
- Please do not edit other users' messages. Thanks, RexNL 01:53, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

You have been temporarily blocked from editing because of your disruptive edits. You are invited to contribute in a constructive manner as soon as the block expires. --Kbh3rdtalk 03:26, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
- I see no reason to lift the block from this individual. Even while blocked, he has continued to vandalize the same article using 24.195.192.234 and 68.39.118.125, Stepp-Wulf 03:55, 31 January 2006 (UTC).
[edit] Feburary 2006
- Vandalized Herkimer (village), New York again by reversion to false information. Stepp-Wulf 04:48, 1 February 2006 (UTC).
- You have been temporarily blocked from editing for vandalism of Wikipedia. Please note that page blanking, addition of random text, deliberate misinformation, and repeated and blatant violation of WP:NPOV are considered vandalism. If you believe you have been blocked unfairly, please add the text {{unblock}} to this page, along with an explanation of why you believe you were unfairly blocked. An administrator will review your case. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lbmixpro (talk • contribs) 2006-02-02 (see diff)
I appreciate your and fellow operators' vigilance toward protecting the integrity of my hometown's Wikipedia entry, however I feel that vigilance is misplaced. Stepp-Wulf repeatedly reverts Herkimer (village), New York to its incomplete form. If you check his user talk page, you'll see that Stepp-Wulf has a history of editing incomplete or inaccurate information into several New York entries. Incidentally, the copyright violations are a misunderstanding. When I claimed to hold the copyright to the material in the article, I was referring to the first section of the article, which I wrote myself, not the "history" subsection, which was ripped -- not by me -- from the village's official Web site. All of my reversions take great pains to make sure it does not include any copyrighted material.
RESPONSE TO COMPLAINT OF BEING UNFAIRLY BLOCKED:
This user inserted copyright material along with some absurd facts to Herkimer, NY. I attempted to re-write some of the plagiarized history, so that it could be retained. I also kept some of his insertions, in spite of feeling they were suspect. I removed the worst of them. This user, if he is actually the village historian, could easily have written another version of the history for the Herkimer, NY page (it would have been welcome). He also could have attempted to justify the most egregious of his claims, listed on the Herkimer talk page, to justify and document (as he alleges he can) this material.
Instead of providing a legitimate justification or acting reasonably, this user has instead:
- Reverted the Herkimer page multiple times, against Widipedia policy.
- Used other computer sites to continue his reversions, while blocked on this one (most recently 69.204.217.27 and 64.12.117.12).
- Erased or edited talk pages to hide his behavior.
- Erased this user's page twice.
- Most recently, has stooped to personal attacks on this editor.Stepp-Wulf 05:10, 4 February 2006 (UTC).
[edit] Blocked for a longer term
Your persistence in adding nonsense to Herkimer (village), New York has earned you a much longer block. During that time, please consider how you can add constructively to Wikipedia. Pollinator 02:48, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
And the block is repeated due to immediate vandalism at the same site when the block expired. Why not constructive edits? Pollinator 20:13, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
