[edit] Riding Shotgun

Please do not add the rules section to the shotgun page again without discussion. It is unsourced and appears to violate WP:OR. Let me know if you have any questions. --Daniel J. Leivick 20:36, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

I sourced it back to http://www.shotgunrules.com/

So then how do I add it to the page, there should be rule clarification.

am i going to get a response?

There isn't any indication that these rules are widespread, or even common. All the source provided indicates is one individuals take on shotgun. A good source would meet WP:RS and discuss various variations on shotgun. A source like that may not exist and in that case a detailed rule description is may not be needed on the shotgun gun page. --Daniel J. Leivick 22:32, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the Blue Öyster Cult page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. --Stormie (talk) 06:28, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't understand how that's nonsense, in fact, it adds flare to the page considering that Gene Frenkle has become a pop culture icon associated with the band. It's only fair to include him in the drums section because the cowbell is a percussion instrument. In fact, I believe that the label of what I did as 'nonsense' to be insulting. To have added nonsense I would have edited in something vulgar about the band or something that doesn't relate to the band whatsoever. At least Frenkle was in the Saturday Night Live skit and is accepted as a fictional member of the band. To say the least it is nearly impossible to make anything of a humorous and RELEVANT nature on this website because it gets shut down. At least this was relevant humor. I would ask that you not call my actions "nonsense" or "vandalism" for that matter as vandalism is defined as "the malicious and deliberate defacement or destruction of somebody else's property". In fact, Wikipedia is public property, and furthermore, I did not destroy maliciously; I added to it in good spirits and you respond with nonsense. So with that I bid you good day and hope that an apology is in order. -Me 16:25 4 February, 2008.
Gene Frenkle is not a former member of Blue Öyster Cult, he is a fictional character, and you know that perfectly well. To add him to the list of former members is indeed accurately described as "nonsense". There is already a section of the article on the SNL "cowbell" sketch (see Blue Öyster Cult#Cowbell) and indeed even a full article on it: "More cowbell". I think the fact that we have a full article on this sketch proves that it is not "nearly impossible to make anything of a humorous and RELEVANT nature on this website". What is not acceptable is passing off humorous content as accurate, encyclopedic content. p.s. Wikipedia is not "public property", while all are welcomed to contribute, editing is a privilege not a right and that privelege may be revoked for those whose contributions are damaging to the project. --Stormie (talk) 23:54, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
