Yeah, I'm disappointed by the low participation. Hopefully it will attract a few more voices in time, and consensus can be reached. As for the protected user page and the semi-protected talk page, I'm not sure whether it's an abuse of admin powers or not - I can't find anything applicable in WP:PROTECT. You might want to bring it up at WP:AN and see what people have to say.

Also, I'm sure you get asked this all the time, but why haven't you ever bothered to create an account? You're obviously an active editor interested in participating in the community. Sarcasticidealist 07:15, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

I gather that you've been following the progress of this, and that you've seen that User:FCYTravis has now advised me that I should either drop this or take it to arbitration. Quite apart from the fact that I can't see ArbComm accepting the dispute at this point, I think bringing it straight there would be giving short shrift to the other dispute resolution processes developed by the Wikipedia community. In light of this, would you be prepared to co-certify a WP:RFC/U with me if I elected to initiate one? I'd rather not go that route, but I'm currently sort of at a loss as to what the alternatives are. Sarcasticidealist 07:41, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
I think we're mostly on the same page. I'll be out of town this weekend, and I'll ruminate then on how to proceed. It might be wise to let the matter drop at this point - the consensus that the material shouldn't have been removed is nearly overwhelming now, although the consensus that it should be replaced is somewhat weaker - but doing so might also still feel wrong on account of his stated intention to ignore consensus. For your consideration, there's a conversation on this subject between User:R. Baley and I on his talk page where he tries to convince me to let it drop. Have a look.
