Trivia by any other name is still trivia. "Influence in popular culture" is a frequently used way some editors try to avoid using the word "Trivia" so it will not be deleted or so the trivia tag will not be added. "Influence on Language" is certainly not trivia, and the first and third items reflect that issue. The other two items, although not forbidden by Wikipedia, are certainly discouraged. Look at the history of the article. At one time it had dozens of useless tidbits about songs and popular bands that used the word "Lolita". It became such a bloated mess that it was all finally deleted. The second and fourth items reflect that sort of "cruft" that has little connection to the novel, and thus serve as the justification for the trivia tag. Also look at the talk page. The addition of so much trivia is a source of complaint by many editors. Note that I did not delete any items. I simply restored the trivia tag, which is perfectly legitimate. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not IMDb or "Triviapedia". Read WP:TRIVIA. Ward3001 (talk) 02:15, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
