[edit] Communes

If you write a substub about a commune, could you please include the country it's in? Not everyone that reads these articles are from Switzerland. This is an international project. Mgm|(talk) 23:16, Mar 19, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Using Templates

Hi; I noticed that you were using templates to include text in articles in ways that aren't exactly conventional. Templates are generally used to include the text of nagivational elements and other complex things that need to be reproduced exactly across many articles for consistency, not for the text of articles (especially very short ones). You might want to read Wikipedia:Template messages before creating these templates to see how it's usually done.

It might also be helpful if you added a little additional context to the geography stubs you're creating; at the very least, mentioning the name of the country would be extremely helpful. If you have any questions, please don't heistate to ask! - Seth Ilys 18:20, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Stop obsessively removing the stub message from Apples, Vaud—this kind of conduct is regarded as vandalism. Postdlf 20:05, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Please stop creating pointless templates, such as Template:Dizy. Such activity only serves to create unnecessary work for the rest of people here. Thank you. - Mike Rosoft 09:51, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Please stop misusing templates to create articles! They are unneccessary, and put neccessary strain on Wikipedia's servers. Simply write the articles and leave it at that until you know exactly how to use templates. This goes doubly in the case of stub templates - new stub templates usually go through a long debating process at Wikipedia: WikiProject Stub sorting/Criteria to assess their worth before they are created. Please stop making editing experiments in Vaud. They constitute vandalism and may result in you being blocked from Wikipedia. If you want to see how various flags look, use Wikipedia:Sandbox.

In addition, do not mark complete articles as stubs. As you can read in Wikipedia:Stub, a stub is a short and possibly incomplete article which needs to be expanded.

Finally, what you were told about pointless templates applies to pointless categories as well. A category containing nothing but three substubs, such as Category:Safien, makes no sense. Thank you. - Mike Rosoft 12:25, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Once again, please stop placing nonsense stub notices on articles. Vaud and Lausanne are not stubs, and Apple is, surprisingly, not a Switzerland article at all. If you do not understand what articles are to be marked as stubs, see Wikipedia:Stub. Thank you. - Mike Rosoft 17:42, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)
