[edit] Regarding your recent edit of Reid Stowe

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Reid Stowe, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. While anyone can edit Wikipedia, the lifetime of the edit depends very much on the skills of the editor in the area of furnishing verifiable content. Your edit was removed because a general reader of the article could never find who the experienced offshore sailors are, or form an independent opinion of their commemtary on evidence. You may think very highly of these people, but if general readers cannot find out who these experienced offshore sailors are, then they cannot independently confirm the mariners' qualifications. Contrast to quoting a passage written by a well-known nautical author in a reliable marine or yatching magazine. At Wikipedia, standards of verifiability are especially stringent with biographies of living people. Sorry, Wikipedia is not a blog; you might find more sympathetic editors at the 1000 Days of Hell blog site. They're probably more fun to be around anyway than your typical Wikipedia editor. Take care. Gosgood 12:11, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
