[edit] Mac history
Thanks for your fixes to Mac 68K emulator. You seem to have a deep knowledge of Mac history; we always appreciate such historical and technical details. Thanks! --Brownsteve 08:06, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Copland memory management
Hi, thanks for your additions to Copland (operating system). I was surprised by your change "Copland therefore was to use a Mach-inspired memory management system", as I've never heard that before. Can I ask your source for that bit of info? MFNickster 15:53, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
The Copland VM architecture (and other stuff) is documented in "Mac OS 8 Revealed", by Tony Francis, Apple Press, 1996.
- Okay, but the book doesn't say a word about Mach, though it does talk about microkernels. MFNickster (talk) 04:45, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

- The book doesn't directly discuss Mach, but the VM chapter describes Mach's VM system in a nutshell, with some of the weirder bits removed. If drawing that obvious conclusion is considered original research, we'd probably better delete that phrase.

- It's intriguing enough to keep, if we can find a reference. Do you know of any developer documentation from that period which talks about the design? MFNickster (talk) 00:48, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
