From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Please stop adding the Chinese name to the MTR line station templates. You have been asked to stop by two editors now; this is the English language Wikipedia, not the Chinese version and thus the English language names are the only ones that should be included in the template. Páll (Die pienk olifant) 05:50, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

First, the Chinese name of each station is already provided by the station article. Second, the Chinese version of Wikipedia already provides a list of station in Chinese. Since Hong Kong is official bilingual and the English names of the stations are having equal status, the English names are not simply translations. I don't think it's necessary to include the Chinese names in brackets. Anyways, welcome to Wikipedia, and happy editing. — Instantnood 07:25, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: MTR Island Line station template

It's good. Thanks. Btw, please consider getting an account, it brings many benefits. — Instantnood 07:50, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Template:MTRStations and Kennedy (MTR)

Hi there. I supposed it was you who made the changes to those two entries. But before you edit them again, could you please show some evidence (refer to WP:CITE) that Kennedy and Shek Tong Tsui are indeed the current tentative official names (i.e. being used by MTRC) of those stations? I will change them back to their original state while this is being settled. Please do reply on my talk page first before commiting further changes. Thank You. Carlsmith 13:12, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] About the presentation format of platforms and about Siu Sai Wan Station

Please stop changing the presentation format of the platforms for the articles about Central, Hong Kong, Tung Chung, Chai Wan and Yau Ma Tei stations. In those termini, both platforms of the terminating lines lead to the same place, so it is meaningless to seperate them into 2 lines as in:

  • Platform 1: Tsuen Wan Line to Tsuen Wan
  • Platform 2: Tsuen Wan Line to Tsuen Wan

Rather, it's more efficient to integrate the 2 platforms into only 1 row. As in:

  • Platforms 1 & 2: Tsuen Wan Line to Tsuen Wan

At the same time, can you please provide the source that shows that Siu Sai Wan Station would be built underground? I don't think it's logical for the MTR line to go underground again given the land use in Chai Wan. It would have been a better idea to continue the viaduct above Chai Wan Road.

Thank you for your attention,

[edit] Cooperation

Dear 68.33.194.218,

I agree to form an alliance with you when it comes to adding information about MTR stations.

I myself am a shareholder of MTR Corporation, so I also get lots of information about MTR's operations.

By the way, Tai Ho IS Tai Ho, if the first word of the place Tai O is Tai, instead of Dai, it should be the same for Tai Ho. Since that's "big" in Chinese.

I suggest you start researching all the exits of each MTR station, while I list all the Bus Routes that operate around each MTR station.

At the same time, PLEASE get an account. It makes identifying you easier.

Yours, Kylohk 18:33, 22 October 2005 (UTC)kylohk

[edit] Stub tags

Please stop adding un-needed stub tags ({{stub}}) to MTR articles, it just creates more work for those of us doing stub sorting, as we have to remove them. -Greg Asche (talk) 03:17, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

Actually, there's {{sectstub}} tag that can be used when a section is a stub. But what's the reason for creating sections than contain nothing but a stub tag? You're not providing any information by this. It'd be far better if you specified what exits and bus routes are there instead of creating empty sections. That would be called contributing. [edit] Presentation of "Exits" section

Please seperate the part about the exits into a seperate section from the "Transport Connections". It makes the articles clearer.

Oh, and I am now studying in London. Please get an account on Wikipedia as soon as possible.

Thank you, kylohk

[edit] Where I lived

I used to live in the Mid Levels above Central.

[edit] Fortress Hill Station

Why did you add Fortress Hill to the list of Kwun Tong Line Stations?

[edit] Lists

Please stop adding arrays of bus routes to the end of an article. It makes the article look non-encyclopedic. Deryck C. 08:52, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
