Wikipedia has a pretty detailed procedure for deleting pages; see Wikipedia:Deletion policy. The Jesus as myth article just went through AfD ("Articles for Deletion") and survived--barely--so it's too early for another such discussion. You can read the debate here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jesus as myth. Hope that helps you understand why you got the warnings.
