Please stop re-adding the relationship with Jewish peoples section to John Paul II. This section has been split off due to the size of the article, if you wish to discuss this please do so on either article's talk page. Also the section you are restoring contains numerous POV statements which had been removed prior to the split. Rje 21:40, Apr 11, 2005 (UTC)
- Please stop adding large amounts of material, expressing a non-neutral point of view, to John Paul II. If you continue to do this, you may be blocked from editing. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:28, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Greetings and Editing points that may be of help.
First, welcome to Wikipedia. If you plan to hang around a while, may I recommend that you go to the upper right-hand corner of the page and create a username, rather than just logging in as a potentially random IP address? Beyond that, I'd like to say that while I appreciate your enthusiasm, there are a few rules about Wikipedia of which you apparently are unaware. First, NPOV: the insistence that edits be made to reflect factual information, not simply one user's or editor's point of view, nor that of any particular group or set of editors. When writing an encyclopedia, this is a fundamental principle. The other point I'd like to make to you is that you need to consider the relevance of your edits to the particular article to which you're contributing. As I said when I removed the image you put into Mezuzah, the picture is nice and all, but it had nothing to do with a mezuzot, nor to do with customs regarding mezuzot. It is, however, probably quite relevant to an article on Jewish-Christian relations or Inter-religious dialogue or something. Please consider that the articles have names for a reason, and their contents should contain only information pertinent to the subject matter. If there are articles that you feel are related, add them to a See also or Related articles section of the article, or if there is information that you feel should be included, be bold in your edits, but make sure your edits really are germane to the article you're editing. If you can't find an article that pertains to the information you're trying to write about, then start a new article with an appropriate name and NPOV information, even if it's only a stub. Meanwhile, if people revert your edits, and you disagree with their rationale for doing so, try FIRST to ascertain WHY they reverted your edits, either on their personal talk pages or on the talk pages relevant to the articles in which your edits have been reverted. This avoids revert-wars which ultimately lead to nothing but hurt feelings and ultimately, a lack of respect among and between editors. Tomer TALK 08:38, Apr 14, 2005 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
